(If you use an email filter that requires the sender to verify, then you won't receive your subscription email! Earthlink users for instance will have to choose a different email address, where they can either receive the emails or "whitelist" email senders in advance - more info here)

What will I receive?

Each day you'll receive a new puzzle from subs@sudokuoftheday.com - an Easy puzzle on Monday, getting harder throughout the week.

The puzzle will be sent in a HTML email, with the puzzle as a PNG image as an attachment. If you're using any recent email program that accepts MIME (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc) you'll see it as a picture in your email. If you're only accepting text-only emails for some reason, you'll have to save the picture.

In each email we'll include a link back to the Sudoku Of The Day page, where there are links for the solution and a full set of hints if you need them!

Each email will be under 10k, so it won't take long to load even if you're on dial-up!

When will I get it?

We start sending out the daily emails at about 6am GMT, with the aim that they'll arrive in the inbox for most people in Europe and USA before they start work (or leave for their commute) that day.

What about Privacy?

We won't be asking for your name or any personal details, and we won't pass your email address on to anyone else. We won't send you any extra emails other than the puzzle of the day.

We will from time to time include tidbits of information or links in the email, especially if there's something new on the Sudoku Of The Day site.

What if I don't want to receive it any more?

Your confirmation email, and every daily email that we send will contain a link you can click to unsubscribe, after which you won't receive any further daily puzzles (unless you resubscribe!).

How do I play?

That's up to you - most people like to print them out, but we've heard that some people with Tablet PCs write onto the puzzle directly on their screen, just as if they're completing their newspaper puzzle.

I can't subscribe!

If your email server requires the sender to verify that the email isn't spam (i.e. Earthlink), you won't receive your verification email.

You'll have to tell them yourself to allow emails from the sudokuoftheday.com domain!

You may find it easier though to get yourself a free email address (gmail, for instance!) and use that for your Sudoku subscription.

I haven't received my puzzle today!

Sometimes there's a lot of emails in our queue and we get a bit behind schedule, and sometimes your ISP might get overloaded too. If it hasn't arrived by about 10am GMT, its worth checking to see if it has been caught in a spam trap somewhere. Make sure you let the emails through any spam filter!

If your email to us bounces (or can't be delivered for any reason), we'll unsubscribe you. If you think you've been unsubscribed, just resubscribe. We won't hold it against you that you had email problems before!

Don't send email to us in reply to your daily puzzle - since the bounce processing happens automatically, your reply will probably get eaten! If you need to get in touch, see our Contact page!
